In addition to the many board certifications and other qualifications our physicians and staff members hold, the practice has been recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance for its Diabetes Care, Heart/Stroke Care and as part of the Patient Centered Medical Home Level 3 program.
Our practice is a team of 14 physicians, as well as advanced practitioners, physical therapists, nurses, a diabetes educator, and support staff who together make it their goal to provide exceptional primary medical care. We intend for the relationship with our patients to span their lifetimes, with a focus on prevention, health, wellbeing and disease management.
IMA physicians spend more time with their patients than average, and that extra time allows your physician to truly listen to your health questions, concerns or problems. Good communication is at the heart of any healthy relationship, and your IMA physician will take the time to listen to you without your feeling hurried.
Our physicians have chosen to specialize in caring for adults (internal medicine). We strive to provide comprehensive care for our patients including nutrition and weight management, diabetic education, lab testing, X-ray, physical therapy, as well as allergy testing and treatment. As a part of Summit Medical Group, our patients also have access to Summit Sleep Services and several diagnostic imaging centers.
Our practice uses full Electronic Medical Record technology to allow instant, secure access to your health information. IMA physicians have mastered the complexities of technology to better care for you, and they strive to stay current on the newest proven techniques and treatments.
Our physicians and staff members are committed to providing compassionate, understanding care for our patients. When our patients feel compassion and caring from their physician, they are more comfortable being open about sharing medical problems and concerns. Compassion, empathy and listening are foundations of the IMA physician-patient relationship.
Located in North Knox County, just off the Interstate 75 Emory Road exit, our practice cares for patients from across Knox, Anderson, Loudon, Sevier, Union, Claiborne, Cocke and Jefferson counties, with some dedicated patients traveling from other states in the Southeast to see their IMA physician.
We make every effort to get patients scheduled to see their physician as quickly as possible. IMA employs four advanced practitioners who are also able to see patients with acute illnesses quickly. We also offer extended evening and Saturday hours to treat acute problems. In addition, IMA is part of Summit Medical Group, which operates three Summit Express Clinics for afterhours care.
